Simple Face

I have to say simple faces are so hard to do... because there isn't much shadows or highlights. Pretty much most of the time I had to figure out how to create the dimensionality on the face. Using my sepia pastel pencil I tried adding hints of really light shadows around the nose and edges of the face. I also thought adding strong highlights around the face would help bring the face into form.

I like the outcome and need to continue studying each portrait more so next time I don't make the same mistakes. I guess the only mistake I can catch are in the eyes and nose. I might have elongated the face a bit and applied too much mascara on the bottom lashes on one eye.

Well I can only learn from my mistakes and see what not to do next time. Again practice makes perfect so more practice I shall do :]
