Back to the Basics

I have taken advantage of my sleepless nights by currently pushing myself to digitally paint again. I am practicing random concepts using only black and white values. Basically, I am going back to the basics of drawing and understanding lights and shadows all over again. I have realized painting is a whole different field where you create images with only colors. However, I am trying to limit the coloring for now and starting with only black and white values. The double smiling monster is my recent painting sketch and really happy with the beginner results. Going back to the basics is something that I need to do if I want to master anatomy and painting. Also, there is nothing stopping me, I have come to my senses to see what is important and will continue to practice until I finally come to perfection.
